Highlighters and shimmers are the talk of the season. Even the most gorgeous makeup looks incomplete without that fabulous glow. So today I am going to review the Sivanna Shining Star Shimmer Brick in the shade 06.
I wanted to buy a good highlighter but was not sure it will work for me or not. And I wasn’t even ready to invest in those High end brands, so decided to buy this as my friend was in love with it. And she was the only one who introduced me with this brand and I’m so glad she did.
First of all let me introduce you to this brand. As most of you must have not heard about it.

Sivanna Cosmetics is the Thai drugstore brand which makes very affordable dupes of the high end brands. Also the qualities of the products are amazing.
About the product:-
This shimmer brick is the dupe of the most famous Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick. It’s available in 6 shades ranging from gold, pink, bronze and even oranges. You can select the colours according to your skin tone. I bought shade 6 as I love the pink tones of it. This Shimmer Bricks are multi-purpose products which can be used as highlighters, blush, bronzer or eyeshadows.
Packaging:-
It comes in a matt black cardboard box with a big window on it to get the sneak peak of the product. Inside that box the shimmer brick comes in the black glossy plastic box with a glass lid to enable you to check out the colours inside. There are 5 rows of beautiful shimmery colours nicely separated for individual use. Overall the packaging is sturdy and beautiful which will look very pretty in your vanity. It’s just like the Bobbi Brown one with only the lack of mirror.
Ingredients:-
Mica ,Talc, Paraffinium Liquidum ,Dimethicone, Magnesium, Aluminum Silicate, Nylon 12, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben ,Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Red Iron Oxide, Yellow Iron Oxide, Black Iron Oxide.
It contains 4 types of Parabens.

Lately it was a bit difficult to get but now it’s easily available at many beauty centres. You can even get it online from Amazon, Flipkart or E-bay.
I got it from a store near me during one of my shopping sprees.

It doesn’t have any fixed price nor is the MRP stated on the box. So the price varies accordingly. I got it for ₹350 or 6 USD approx.

Sivanna Shining Star Shimmer Brick claims: –
Be a radiant star by applying to cheek bones or a light dusting all over.
But I’m not comfortable dusting it all over my face.
Texture: –
This shimmer brick is powder based product. But its texture is too smooth, just a bit creamy and soft. Minimum to no fallout depending upon how much product you apply. You can see bit fallout when taken on brush but while applying there is no fallout. It doesn’t feel chalky or gritty on the skin.
Pigmentation:-
Now this is the most important thing about every makeup product. And the Sivanna Shimmer Brick is truly a winner in this arena. Even the lightest shade is highly pigmented.
For highlighting just one swipe and you are good to go. It blends like a dream and gives that blinding glow to the skin. When applied as Blush or Eyeshadow the colour payoff is amazing. It doesn’t even settles in the pores or crease. Its non-transferable, so you will never have to worry about it. It is probably the best thing about it.
Shades:-
The First shade is the Pale Pink one with metallic sheen in it. It can be used as highlighter or blush.
The Second one is a beautiful and my most favourite Champagne Gold colour. It’s amazing for highlighting initially it looks white but on blending it gives a nice gold glow.
The Third one is a Dusty Pink with the gold glitter in it and a hint of rose gold. It looks great as highlighter, blush, as well as eyeshadow.
The Forth one is the Baby Pink shade with lots of silver shimmer in it. Again it’s amazing for blush or highlighter. It’s great for those who love silver tones.
Finally, The Last shade is Deeper Pink with pink sheen in it (no gold, no silver), just plain pink. It’s a bit darker version of the first shade. It looks amazing as eyeshadow or blush.
This shimmer brick is perfect for Fair and Medium skin toned beauties.
My experience with the Sivanna Shining Star Shimmer Brick:-
My skin is on the oily side so this powder based highlighter is just perfect for me. It doesn’t even break me out. The staying power and colour payoff is seriously amazing. Without primer it stays on my skin for a good 6 to 7 hours without making my skin oily. I’m head over heels in love with this shimmer brick as its gold reflects made it look very natural and beautiful. It looks great on any occasion. For normal days just a swipe of highlighter or with a bit of pink blush for weddings or any other big occasion and the compliments are flooding!!!
How I use it:-
A swipe of the second shade with fluffy or fan brush on my cheek bones and the bridge of my nose looks blinding.
Sometimes to be more creative I just swirl the brush on all shades or any 2 or 3 shades to give a pretty pink glow.
It even works best as a highlighter cum blush as it has shimmery shades.
I even use it as an eyeshadow as its easily blendable and it never settle down in the crease.
Once I even tried to dap it on my lipstick to give a Metallic glow and it worked!

My Recommendation On the Sivanna Shining Star Shimmer Brick:-
This shimmer brick is best if you want something affordable with amazing quality as well as quantity. Everything about it is amazing, except that it contains parabens which can harm the skin. Otherwise it’s an awesome product as it is the most versatile palette which can be used as highlighter, blush and even eyeshadow. Arrays of colour options available, high pigmentation and great staying power makes it the best highlighter in the affordable category. And hence an amazing and affordable dupe of Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick.
