Highlighters are everywhere!!! All the brands, all the makeup artists are just crazy about them. According to my opinion they worth it!! Highlighters just give an amazing glow to the skin by completely transferring your look. It even helps in defining the cheekbones and nose. So I also always wanted to buy the much loved Bobby Brown shimmer brick but I ended up buying 2 shimmer bricks; First the Makeup Revolution Shimmer Brick Pink Kisses and another one from Sivanna.
I had already reviewed the one from Sivanna here. So now let’s see how this Makeup Revolution one works out for me.

About the Makeup Revolution Shimmer Brick
This shimmer brick is the dupe of the most famous Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick. It’s available in 3 shades ranging from gold, pink, and bronze. You can select the colors according to your skin tone. I bought this as I love the tones of it. These Shimmer Bricks are multi-purpose products that can be used as highlighters, blush, bronzer, or even eye shadows.
Packaging
The Shimmer Brick comes packed in a black plastic pan with a transparent lid over it so that you can see the colors through it. It looks gorgeous, everything from the Gold colored Makeup Revolution written on the lid to the sturdy black pan is just simply gorgeous. The only thing it lacks is a mirror, but for the price we are getting it, demanding a mirror along with it feels so unethical. So overall the packaging is quite sleek, beautiful, and travel-friendly.

Makeup Revolution Shimmer Brick Claims
Combining the warmth from a bronzer with highlighters gives a gorgeous definition to all skin tones.
How to use
Either use each shade from the shimmer brick on its own or swirl your brush round to pick up all the colors.
Shades
As you can see, this shimmer brick has overall 5 shades.
The first one is a quite unique shade, it seems dual-toned. And it actually is, it is a pale shade but with a very pretty pink undertone to it. It is good as a highlighting shade.
The second one is my favorite, it is a very beautiful light rose gold shade, perfect for highlight. It is also great for the inner corner of the eyes as well as for the bridge of the nose. But even it has a pink undertone to it if taken in slightly more quantity.
The third shade is a perfect bronzer shade with light golden brown undertones. It can even be used as a highlighter for that sun-kissed glow or else it can be used as a very beautiful gold eyeshadow.
The fourth shade is a slightly different version of the second one with just more gold undertones to it, rather than pink. It can be used as a nice highlighting shade.
The last one is also my very favorite. It is a perfect shimmer pink blush for a beautifully rosy glow. It can be used as an eyeshadow too.
Texture
I am in awe of the texture and the quality of this shimmer brick. It is very soft and creamy and doesn’t look too powdery on the skin. It has very finely gritted shimmers in it rather than glitter, which gives a very subtle yet beautiful glow. The quality of the product is also so amazing it suits my oily skin perfectly without clogging pores or breaking me out.
Pigmentation
This shimmer brick is highly pigmented, just a single swipe and I’m ready for a beautiful glowing day look. For a more intense night glam, you can build it up but beware to not go beyond 2 or 3 swipes as it’s too pigmented and you may overdo it.
Staying Power
It stays almost a full day. It is that amazing. After 5-6 hours it just moves a bit, but not much, and it can stay put for the whole day. I had taken it with me on my Hyderabad tour and trust me it stayed amazingly for the whole day during my travels; that too without making my skin oily.
Overall my experience with this shimmer brick is great. It is a multi-purpose thing with a highlighter, bronzer, eyeshadow as well as blush in it. I just keep it in my bag during light travels and I don’t need anything else. The texture, pigmentation, and staying power of this brick highly impressed me. The only problem I had is that the shimmer on it keeps on spreading on the packaging and makes it a bit messy, you can see it in my swatches picture.

And to brands, I really hope you stop using Parabens and start using something more skin-friendly to make perfect quality products.
