In a recent survey conducted, 99.6% of women worldwide identified themselves as having sensitive skin on parts of their bodies other than the face. Wow isn’t it crazy!!! And here I was thinking only I’m the one with such sensitive skin, with acne, redness, irritations and all. So the skin of every or some parts of our body is always very sensitive and so problematic. And among them the most sensitive and problematic is the Facial Skin. It always tends to break out, irritated, gets wrinkled just for the tinniest of the reasons. So Today we would discuss some very amazing skincare tips.
Over the years I had always searched for skincare tips;Do’s and don’ts to make my skin problem free. Some works miraculously while some doesn’t work at all. But, I had finally found few amazing ways that actually works great. So I just want to share with you all, these amazing skincare tips to make your skin problem free and glowing.
1. Do not ever OVER EXFOLIATE:-
We all know exfoliation is soooo good! It removes dead skin cells making the skin so soft and beautiful. But over exfoliation can strip the skin of its natural oils making it dull and damaged.
Exfoliate just once a week, not more than that. And try to use natural antioxidant exfoliators like oats, walnuts or granulated sugar. But if you want to use any scrub try to select the one with smooth granules rather than with rough ones which can damage the skin.
2. Feed yourself VITAMIN C:-
Vitamin C is the skins best friend! It has antioxidants which neutralizes free radicals in skin, protecting it from damage and aging.
So never forget to feed yourself and your skin with Vitamin C. Include Vitamin C infused fruits and veggies in your diet. Citrus fruits and vitamin C creams & lotions can be applied on skin to reverse the effects of aging, sun tan and any other skin damage.
3. Have a BEAUTY SLEEP:-
Never ever compromise on your “Beauty Sleep” of atleast 8 hours. Both our body and skin gets tired and they need this rest to rejuvenate. Not getting proper sleep can make your skin looking saggy and dull, with dark circles and it will even age faster!!!
So just relax yourself, put all your electronics aside and indulge in as much sleep as needed. If then too you are unable to sleep, try a relaxing bath or a glass of warm milk and you will sleep like a baby!
4. Avoid BAD MAKEUP:-
Makeup that clog pores, makeup that’s expired, someone else’s makeup, makeup that stinks, makeup not suitable for your skin type are all categorised under Bad Makeup. This can cause serious harm to your skin.
So try to avoid this kind of makeups, always try to use non cosmedogenic products (so that it doesn’t block pores) and don’t store it too long; Use it, finish it and throw it before it expires. And always select the products carefully according to your skin type; this will make your skin look and feel better.
5. Never forget to REMOVE YOUR MAKEUP:-
Never ever leave makeup on your face as it will make your skin age 7 times faster. So whatever happens doesn’t ever forget to remove your Makeup before going to bed. Yeah I know it’s a very tiring day, that huge wedding function or that late night family gatherings made you so tired that you can’t even lift your hands. But you don’t have any other option or else next morning you will surely regret it!
Select a good cleanser that can remove every last traces of makeup. Or else you can just massage your entire face with olive oil, it’s a bit messy, but trust me it will remove all the dirt and makeup from your face like a magic. Don’t go for makeup wipes unless and until it’s a huge emergency.
6. NIGHT TIME skin treatment:-
While you’re in sleep, your body stimulate cell and tissue repair. This is the best time for your skin Serums and moisturizers to work at its best. It is the time when your skin is in renewal and repair phase and you can aid this with your skin care products.
So never ever skip your night time routine and also try to include an anti-aging treatment as at night it will work at its best.
7. Always perform FACIAL EXERCISES:-
Just like proper diet and exercises are necessary for a healthy perfectly toned body. A proper facial exercise along with a good anti-aging treatment is necessary to help your face always looking young and beautiful.
One of the most effective facial exercises is to just stand or sit erect, face towards ceiling and pout. Count till 10, face down, and repeat it 5 times a day. This is an amazing exercise which will make your facial skin tighter, a perfect jawline and will also help eliminate double chin.
8. MOISTURIZING is mandatory:-
Always, always keep your skin moisturized, as moisturized skin is beautiful skin. A good moisturizer will also make your skin baby soft and glowing. Always apply moisturizer after shower to lock in the moisture.
Select a good moisturizer as per your requirements and skin type. Also make sure that it is free of Paraben, sulfate, and fragrance. Fragrance means ‘Alcohol’; it will dry out your skin rather than moisturizing it. My favourite is Aroma Magic Juniper Berry Moisturizer.
9. Never forget SUNSCREEN:-
Sunrays provide with Vitamin D, but it can also make your skin tan, dull, lifeless and even makes it age faster. Staying away from sun is never in the list, but facing it with a good sunscreen on will always be!
So never ever try to avoid Sunscreen, be it a rainy day with lots of clouds and no sun or a winter. If sun rays are providing the needed light then they are also affecting your skin. So always use a Non Cosmedogenic Sunscreen with UVA and UVB protection of at least SPF 30.
10. Eat HEALTHY:-
Whatever you eat shows on your skin. So always try to go for a healthy meal. Increase the intake of fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, oats and also nuts. And try to reduce the intake of salt, sugar, fried, spicy food. This is not just an skincare tips but also an health tip.
11. Keep skin HYDRATED:-
Hydrated skin is healthy skin. Never let your skin dehydrate, as it will make the skin dry and aged.
So always keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water, atleast 8 glasses a day. Try to increase the intake of fruits and vegetables with high water content like watermelon, orange, cucumber, etc.
12. Use ESSENTIAL OILS:-
Essential oils have been used from centuries because of its many amazing benefits. It can be used to solve almost every skin problem like acne breakout, dryness, aging, dark spots, blemishes, tanning, open pores, chapped lips, etc. They also are used for amazing health benefits like relaxation, good sleep, headache, cold, etc.
Tea tree oil, peppermint oil, black seed oil, rose oil, lemon oil and frankincense oil are few of the most effective essential oils. These oils can work wonders on the skin. Always use 100% pure and natural essential oils.This is my most favorite skincare tips.
13. Never pop a PIMPLE:-
Call it pimple, acne or breakout, it’s a kind of red bump on the skin, which we all have surely faced atleast once. It arrives when our pores gets clogged due to makeup or dirt. So always try to keep your skin clean, but then too if there is a breakout don’t try to touch or pop it ever!!!
Trying to pop it will lead to more swelling, redness, and sometimes it also leads to more breakouts because of spread of bacteria. Just clean your face properly and apply Aloe Vera gel or honey or chilled tea bag or tea tree oil. As they are anti-inflammatory, it will make the acne go in a day or two.
14. RELAX your mind and body:-
Stress leads to clogged pores, breakouts, fine lines and much more. Stress and depression will make you look much older than you actually are!
Pamper yourself; go for a Spa at least twice a month. Have a good relaxing facial, fruit facials are even better. Have fun with friends and family, smile, laugh till your stomach hurts. Detoxify your body and make it stress free. Relaxed person is the Most Beautiful person!!!
15. Good Hygiene; basic skincare tips:-
Last but not the least, maintaining proper hygiene is very important. Just maintaining a good skincare routine is not enough for a problem free skin, you will also have to take care of everything that touches your skin.
Sanitize everything that comes in contact with your skin, your Makeup brushes and sponges, mobile phone, glasses, sunglasses, pillow covers (in every two weeks), and even your hands. These things can transfer oils and bacteria on your skin leading to clogged pores, so it’s necessary to keep it clean and hygienic.
Sounds easy!!! So just keep a smile on your beautiful face and try to include these skincare tips in your day to day routine to make yourself irresistible. It’s alright if you can’t do all the things at once, just try to include at least 5 skincare tips and you will see a noticeable difference in your skin.
